Record a calf born on the farm

Add a home-bred calf with its date of birth, sex, mother, breed and sire.

  1. 1Open Livestock and choose Cattle.
  2. 2Tap add, and choose From birth.
  3. 3Pick the date of birth and the calf's sex.
  4. 4Select the mother from your herd, and record the breed and sire.
  5. 5Save. Your herd grows by one, with the calf linked to its parents.

Because the calf is linked to its dam and sire, its pedigree is on record from day one — useful later for breeding decisions and for tracking which cows produce the best calves.

Note: A birth record has no seller or price — the animal's cost basis starts at zero, so any eventual sale shows as gain.
