Manage poultry as batches: placement, mortality, growth for broilers and egg collection for layers.

Poultry is managed in batches rather than bird by bird. Hurudza supports three kinds of chicken enterprise, each tracking what matters for that system: broilers (meat birds on a grow-out cycle), layers (egg production) and road runners (indigenous free-range flocks).

  1. 1Open Livestock and pick the poultry type.
  2. 2Create a batch with the placement date, bird count and breed.
  3. 3Record events against the batch: mortality, feed given, health treatments.
  4. 4For layers, record daily egg collection; for broilers, record sample weights through the grow-out.
  5. 5When birds are sold, record the sale against the batch.

The batch detail screen keeps the running picture: birds placed versus birds remaining, mortality percentage, and the batch's feed and sales history.

Tip: Start a new batch for each placement of birds — comparing batches side by side is how you spot which supplier, feed or season performs best.
